After addressing damage to its bow, the vessel departed from the Sea Bath Pier in the early hours of September 9 at 2:25 a.m. It is now en route through the Kiel Canal, aiming for an arrival in Poti by September 12. In the early hours of September 7, 2011, at 4 a.m., the tanker Fionia Swan, arriving from Rotterdam, experienced a catastrophic engine failure, leading to an allision with the Steubenhöft in Cuxhaven. Despite efforts to halt the vessel's progress using the anchor, the ship continued its unintended course. The impact resulted in significant damage to the port side bow of the Fionia Swan, as it struck the quay while en route to Finland, leaving a two-meter gash in its hull. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or oil spills as a result of the incident.
