The bulk carrier 'Nordseine' was apprehended at the port of Topolobampo after authorities discovered cocaine concealed within its cranes. The vessel, known for transporting 18,000 tons of fertilizer, docked on September 21, 2025. Following this incident, federal investigators are also scrutinizing another tanker, 'BW Wren', which is currently located in Guaymas, Sonora. Samples from both ships have been collected by federal officials and are pending laboratory analysis to determine the presence of narcotics, raising alarms among maritime security agencies and anti-drug trafficking authorities in Mexico.
