Vessel NS Pride Encounters Minor Incident Near Chornomorsk Port
On August 31, 2025, the vessel NS Pride experienced minor damage after colliding with an unidentified explosive device while navigating near Chornomorsk. At the time of the incident, the ship was not carrying any cargo, and fortunately, all crew members remained unharmed. Following the collision, NS Pride continued its journey towards the port of Sulina. The incident reportedly triggered multiple explosions, suspected to be linked to an unexploded unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that Ukrainian electronic warfare had earlier downed during an assault on the port. Witnesses indicated that several downed UAVs were visible on the water's surface, potentially having released naval mines in the area prior to the attack. The Chornomorsk region had experienced extensive drone strikes from Russian forces the previous night, which had also resulted in significant power outages due to damage inflicted on local energy facilities.
