In an exciting development for the maritime industry, the 'Havila Aurora' and 'Havila Borg' have been awarded three-month contracts by Totals, a prominent exploration and production company in the UK. The contracts are set to commence in May 2018, with each agreement including an option for an additional month. Notably, the 'Havila Borg' faced a challenging period when it was laid up along with two other vessels in 2016, resulting in job losses for 70 workers. This new contract marks a significant turnaround for the ship and its crew.

In a significant boost for maritime operations in the North Sea, two platform support vessels (PSVs) from Norway's Havila Shipping have secured new contracts with major oil companies. The Havila Foresight, launched in 2008, has been awarded an extension of its current charter by Statoil, ensuring its service for an additional year starting July 1. This agreement also comes with four options for further six-month extensions. Meanwhile, the Havila Aurora, constructed in 2009, has officially commenced work for Total UK under a firm contract lasting three months, with the possibility of an optional one-month extension. Details regarding the day rates for both contracts have not been publicly disclosed by the Oslo-listed shipowner.
