In a significant drug enforcement operation, Mexican authorities intercepted two refrigerated containers aboard the 'San Adriano' at the Yucatan Container Terminal in Progreso. This occurred during the vessel's port stay from February 6 to February 12, 2016. As investigations continued up until February 24, law enforcement officials discovered over 750 kilograms of cocaine concealed within boxes of frozen fish. Initial assessments suggest that as much as three tons of cocaine could be hidden within the containers, ingeniously disguised within the fish and buried in ice used for packing. Consequently, the vessel's scheduled departure to Altamira has been postponed, with an estimated time of arrival now set for February 29.
