In a significant move, China's Ministry of Transport has temporarily halted crew change operations for all vessels operated by two specific ship management companies due to recent coronavirus outbreaks. Health officials have detected COVID-19 cases on board, with 15 crew members testing positive on the 'Omicron Sky' and 21 on the 'Asia Spring' during routine port inspections. The affected ships are managed by Omicron Ship Management and Dia Yuan International Shipping. In accordance with China's current crew change regulations, the ministry has imposed a 30-day suspension of crew changes for all vessels under the management of these companies. This decision stems from concerns about their failure to adequately control the spread of the virus. Following this period, authorities will assess the situation before permitting any future crew changes. According to a list released by the Ministry of Transport, Omicron Ship Management oversees the operation of six vessels, while Dia Yuan International Shipping manages a fleet of 17. As of February 11, 2021, the 'Omicron Sky' was docked in Zhoushan, while the 'Asia Spring' departed from Yingkou to Adang Bay on January 18.

In a significant move, a new charter has been successfully finalized for the EC vessel, set to deliver to South America on December 10, 2019. The charter comes at an impressive daily rate of $14,600, supplemented by a substantial ballast bonus of $460,000. Following the delivery, the vessel will be redelivered to Southeast Asia to serve Cofco, strengthening the operational ties in the region.
