On September 15, 2018, at 08:50 a.m., a maritime incident occurred involving the vessel 'Omskiy 135' and the cargo ship 'Volgo-Don 155' while they were maneuvering at lock No.6, located at the 847 km mark of the Volgo-Balt Canal. Initial reports indicate that 'Omskiy 135' experienced minor damage, specifically to its stern and the port side bulwark. In contrast, 'Volgo-Don 155' reported only superficial damage to the paintwork on its starboard bow. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and both vessels have since continued operations.
Cargo Vessel Omskiy 135 Grounded on Svir River Due to Navigational Error
On May 12 at 5:25 AM, the cargo ship Omskiy 135 encountered trouble while navigating the Svir River in the St. Petersburg region, grounding at kilometer mark 1102. The incident occurred as a result of a navigational error while the vessel was transporting 2,534 tons of timber, destined for Husum. The Omskiy 135 became stranded off the fairway within a one-way channel. After addressing the situation, the ship successfully departed from St. Petersburg on May 16, resuming its journey and is expected to reach Husum by May 19.
