Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd. proudly announced that two of its vessels, the wood chip carrier WORLD SWAN II and the containership MOL MAGNIFICENSE, have been recognized with the prestigious 2016 'Best Quality Ships Award' from the Japan Federation of Pilots' Associations (JFPA). This notable accolade, first introduced in 2003, aims to promote awareness and emphasize the importance of safeguarding harbors and marine environments through the safe operation of international vessels. Selection for this award is based on superior performance, as evaluated by JFPA members. For the 2016 cycle, a total of seven vessels were chosen from those that requested pilotage in various districts across Japan during September and October. The recognition of two MOL-operated and managed vessels highlights the company's commitment to fostering strong collaboration between ship pilots and the crews aboard, coupled with the excellence of onboard equipment and facilities for safe boarding and disembarking. The awards ceremony took place on June 23, where a representative from MOL was honored with an award certificate and a commemorative memento from the JFPA Chairman.
