The One-Millau: Crew Feedback and Vessel Data

On December 18, 2016, the containership Millau Bridge faced an unexpected engine failure while navigating northwest of Antimilos Island. The vessel was on its voyage from Piraeus to Port Said when the incident occurred in the afternoon. With 23 crew members on board, the situation required urgent assistance, leading to the deployment of three tugboats to tow the disabled ship back to Piraeus. By the afternoon of December 19, Millau Bridge was safely moored at Piraeus anchorage. Following necessary repairs, the ship was able to continue its journey, with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) in Port Said set for December 22.

KAWASAKI KISEN KAISHA, LTD., widely known as ‘K’ Line, celebrates the successful delivery of the ‘Millau Bridge’, a significant addition to their fleet. This state-of-the-art 14,000 TEU container vessel was handed over on April 1 at the Imabari Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. Hiroshima Shipyard. The ‘Millau Bridge’ is the first of five vessels ordered in 2013 and will play a crucial role in the Asia-Europe service (NE2) as part of the CKYHE Alliance. This delivery not only showcases ‘K’ Line's commitment to enhancing its service capabilities but also strengthens the alliance's operational efficiency and connectivity between Asia and Europe.
