NYK THESEUS Set for Launch on NYK WCNA - Middle East Route
Starting in mid-July, NYK and Hanjin are set to adjust the frequency of their shared 'SGX'/'PSG' service, a vital loop connecting the West Coast of North America with the Far East, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East Gulf (IMO #1801). This modification includes an additional port call and an extra vessel, resulting in an extended round trip duration from 11 weeks to 12 weeks. Currently, NYK operates seven vessels in this service while Hanjin contributes four ships. To enhance their fleet, NYK is welcoming the NYK THESEUS, a 6,660 TEU container ship, scheduled to join the service on July 15. This new addition aligns perfectly in size with the existing fleet, which consists of mid-sized over-panamax vessels exceeding 6,000 TEUs.
