The shipping company Harns CV is set to face significant penalties, potentially amounting to $140,000, due to the actions of the 'Onego Trader.' On June 15, 2013, the vessel navigated perilously close to the protected zones surrounding Carysfort Reef, coming within two miles of the Area to Be Avoided (ATBA) designated for the reef. Regulations stipulate that vessels must maintain a distance of at least four miles from Carysfort Reef to ensure the safety of the marine environment. In light of this violation, the captain of the Onego Trader has been issued a federal citation, which could lead to civil fines reaching the aforementioned amount of $140,000.
