On November 11, 2019, at 03:30 AM, the 'OOCL Asia' experienced a complete blackout while traveling from Le Havre to New York. The vessel encountered this issue due to a generator malfunction linked to a blocked fuel filter. This incident occurred at the coordinates 49° 32' 37.8" N, 004° 42' 10.2" W, approximately 32 miles South-Southeast of Lizard Point. Fortunately, the crew was able to swiftly address and rectify the problem, allowing the ship to resume its journey without requiring any external assistance by around 4:00 AM.
