On August 17, 2018, at 07:35 a.m., the containership OOCL Nagoya experienced an allision with a gantry crane while making her approach to Yokkaichi port. The incident resulted in damage to the vessel's port-side stern. Following the unfortunate event, the ship continued her journey and set sail for Kobe on August 18.

In a significant update to its operational routes, the Japan – China – Taiwan – Australia service (#180) is undergoing modifications this August. This service, collaboratively managed by major shipping lines including MOL (‘AU2’), K-Line (‘ESACO’), OOCL (‘AEA3’), Evergreen (‘NEAX’), and NYK (‘ANA2’), will shift its focus on calls in China. Beginning in the first week of August, the service will transition its operations from the Pearl River Delta region to target the Shandong Province and the Yangtze Estuary. This change aims to enhance efficiency and service reliability across the Asia-Pacific shipping routes.
