Mundra International Container Terminal (MICT) has proudly announced the arrival of its inaugural OOCL vessel, the m/v OOCL San Francisco, marking a significant milestone as OOCL joins the esteemed Europe Pakistan India Consortium (EPIC) service. Renowned for its extensive reach to the Far East and South-East Asia markets, OOCL's collaboration with CMA CGM through a joint service agreement is a strategic move to strengthen its foothold within the European trade sector. The EPIC service features an impressive 56-day round voyage itinerary, encompassing key ports including Jebel Ali, Port Qasim, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jeddah, Port Said, Malta, Tangier, Southampton, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Le Havre, Khorfakkan, and returning to Jebel Ali. With larger vessels being introduced, the service is expected to significantly enhance the cargo capacity, with anticipated shipments of 1,500 TEUs originating from Mundra, thereby bolstering the growing trade dynamics between Europe and the thriving port of Mundra.
