On the morning of October 9, 2018, a maritime incident occurred at the outer anchorage of Istanbul in Yenikapi, where the TK Rotterdam collided with the bulk carrier Bosphorus King. Both vessels were navigating through the Marmara Sea at the time of the crash; the TK Rotterdam was traveling from Haifa to Kavkaz, while the Bosphorus King was making its way from Ukraine to Spain. Fortunately, both ships only experienced minor hull damages located above the waterline. Following the collision, authorities directed both vessels to anchor for a thorough inspection to assess the extent of the damage.
