On the evening of August 6, under adverse weather conditions, the Turkish Suezmax tanker Ottoman Integrity experienced a significant mishap while unloading crude oil at the Thessaloniki port’s terminal. The tanker suffered a hose failure, resulting in the release of an undisclosed volume of oil into the sea. The spill extended approximately 1100 meters in length and 3 meters in width, creating a concerning sheen on the water's surface.
