Capital Product Partners L.P. (NASDAQ:CPLP), a leading international shipping company, has announced the successful acquisition of new time charters for four of its product tankers. The vessels involved include the M/T 'Alexandros II' (51,258 dwt, IMO II/III, built in 2008), the M/T 'Aristotelis II' (51,226 dwt, IMO II/III, also built in 2008), and the M/T 'Aris II' (51,218 dwt, IMO II/III, 2008), all constructed by STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd in South Korea, along with the M/T 'Ayrton II' (51,260 dwt, IMO II/III, built in 2009). These four vessels have been contracted by Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. (Petrobras) for a period of two years, with an option for Petrobras to extend the charters for an additional eleven months. The gross daily rate for the new charters is set at $14,700, with the extension rate at $14,850.* These new employments are contingent upon the successful vetting inspections of each vessel and are anticipated to commence in the third quarter of 2018. As a result, Capital Product Partners L.P. has increased its charter coverage for 2018 to an impressive 70%.
