A maritime accident occurred on January 31, 2020, at approximately 5:45 PM when the cargo vessel 'Pam Bonn,' weighing 945 gt (IMO: 7715496), collided with the motor launch 'Alcamar 1' roughly 20 miles off the coast of Yani Cove in the Biobío Region of Chile. The collision resulted in the sinking of 'Alcamar 1,' leading to the unfortunate death of 54-year-old fisherman Juan Luis Aravena Reyes, a resident of Lebu originally from Cañete.
