On January 1, 2023, the bulk carrier 'Pantazis L' set sail from the EECV Europoort Terminal in Rotterdam, headed towards Le Havre. However, it encountered intense weather conditions while navigating the English Channel. The rough seas caused significant damage, leading to the shifting and compromising of several hatch covers, exposing them to the ocean. To provide assistance, the tug 'VB Octeville' guided the stricken 'Pantazis L' safely to port, where it arrived at Quay Johannes Couvert on January 7 at 4:20 p.m. Remarkably, upon docking, the vessel's hatch was seen hanging precariously over the port side.
