Parana-Warrior Vessel Reviews and Specifications

The bulk carrier 'Northern Light' has been stranded off the coast of Cuba since March 13, 2015. The vessel, located at coordinates 20°22'N latitude and 078°06'W longitude, is approximately 55 miles west of Manzanillo in southwest Cuba. It had departed from Jamaica carrying a hefty cargo of 25,155 tons of raw sugar, destined for Klaipeda. Over a week later, on March 22, the ship remained firmly aground. Efforts to rescue the vessel are being undertaken by Antillana de Salvamento, a local salvage company in Cuba. The situation continues to develop as salvage operations progress.
