Working Conditions Aboard the Pazifik

On the morning of July 9, 2018, at precisely 7 a.m., the tanker 'Pazifik' encountered an unfortunate grounding incident in the Lesser Sunda Strait, specifically at coordinates 08°29′S and 119°20′E. The vessel, which was en route from Luwuk, was maneuvering through the Strait towards the south when it found itself aground between the islands of Pulau Sangeang and Pulau Banta. Remarkably, after a series of efforts, the 'Pazifik' was successfully refloated on the early hours of July 14. Following its refloating, the tanker was assisted by the tugboat 'Pacific Valour' (IMO: 9443516) and was subsequently towed to eastern Pulau Sumbawa island. The vessel has now been securely moored at the Sape anchorage, ensuring its safety and that of the surrounding marine environment.
