In an unprecedented maritime event, the Port of Cork welcomed its largest container ship ever, the MV POLAR COSTA RICA, making history with a staggering shipment of fruit, predominantly millions of bananas. Measuring an impressive 230 meters—almost twice the length of Páirc Úi Chaoimh—the colossal vessel arrived after a 10-day transatlantic journey, docking at the deepwater terminal in Ringaskiddy just after 4 PM.
