A maritime incident unfolded on the Ghent-Terneuzen Canal when the vessel "Klara" faced significant damage due to a collision with the "Posidana" on April 30, 2019, shortly after midnight near the Sluiskil bridge. The "Klara," sailing from Ust-Luga to Ghent at the time of the accident, sustained damage to its starboard side, resulting in water ingress. In response, the crew of the patrol boat "RWS 88" from Rijkswaterstaat promptly boarded the damaged vessel via a pontoon positioned at the Sluiskil bridge. Meanwhile, Multraship dispatched the "Multrasalvor 5" to provide assistance to the "Klara," which had come to rest between the East Quay and Industry Way in Sluiskil East.
