Protug 75 Performs Life-Saving Rescue of 15 Migrants Near Alicante

On February 8, 2025, the tugboat 'Protug 75' successfully rescued 15 migrants off the coast of Alicante. The vessel notified the Maritime Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC) of Salvamento MarΓ­timo in Valencia about the rescue operation. In response, the search and rescue boats 'Salvamar Leo' and the Guardia Civil patrol vessel 'Rio Ladra' were dispatched to assist. The three vessels coordinated a rendezvous 20 kilometers from the shoreline, where the migrants were safely transferred onto the SAR boat. Fortunately, all individuals appeared to be in good health at the time of the transfer. The group was subsequently taken to Alicante for disembarkation, marking another critical operation in the ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of those navigating perilous waters.
