OOCL Shifts Gateway Express 2 Operations from DP World to PSA in Antwerp
In a significant operational change, Hong Kong's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL), which is currently a subsidiary of Cosco, has relocated its Gateway Express 2 (GEX2) service from the Antwerp DP World Gateway terminal to PSA Antwerp. This transition was marked by the arrival of the 4,045-TEU vessel, Quebec Express, on March 13. The GEX2 service offers a transatlantic route, making stops in key ports including Southampton, Antwerp, Hamburg, and Montreal, before returning to Southampton. OOCL's local customer service representatives are available for any inquiries regarding this adjustment. This move is expected to enhance the efficiency of OOCL's operations at the Port of Antwerp. Hapag-Lloyd's Quebec Express Marks Its First Arrival at Port of Montreal
The Port of Montreal is thrilled to announce the arrival of Hapag-Lloyd's newest addition, the Quebec Express, during its first-ever call to the port. This significant event took place on December 17, where a special ceremony was held to commemorate the occasion. Sylvie Vachon, President and CEO of the Montreal Port Authority, alongside Tony Boemi, Vice-President of Growth and Development, honored Captain Markus Droste with a painting as a token of appreciation. The Quebec Express, with a capacity of 4,045 TEUs (20-foot equivalent units), is the latest vessel integrated into Hapag-Lloyd's St. Lawrence Coordinated Service 2 (AT2), a weekly route that links Montreal to major European ports, including Southampton in the United Kingdom, Antwerp in Belgium, and Hamburg in Germany. The vessel docked at Montreal's Racine Terminal, operated by the Montreal Gateway Terminals Partnership, on December 14. Formerly known as the Longavi, the ship has been aptly renamed to reflect its service to the Province of Quebec, continuing Hapag-Lloyd's tradition of naming vessels after the markets they serve.
