On September 9, 2017, an urgent evacuation was executed aboard the tanker 'Randgrid' in Mekjarvik, Stavanger, when a fire broke out in the engine room. A total of 138 crew members, including several contractors working on board, were safely evacuated amidst the chaos. Twenty individuals remained on site to combat the blaze. The local fire department was notified at 2:51 p.m. and swiftly responded, managing to control the fire effectively.
