In a shocking incident at Conakry anchorage, the container vessel 'Windhoek' fell prey to a pirate attack on September 21, 2016, occurring at approximately 3:52 a.m. local time (0252 LT). The coordinates of the attack were 09:18.47N – 013:45.51W. Armed with firearms, a group of six intruders boarded the ship and quickly opened fire on the duty crew stationed onboard.
