On July 16, 2019, at 8:30 p.m., the cargo ship 'Zeybe' encountered a technical malfunction while navigating the Istanbul Strait, specifically near the Haydarpasa point. The vessel, which was in ballast condition and traveling from Golcuk to Karadeniz Eregli, Turkey, was subsequently diverted to Istanbul roads to undergo necessary repairs. As a result of the incident, access to the strait was temporarily suspended until the repairs were completed. After successfully addressing the technical issues, 'Zeybe' departed from the Istanbul Anchorage on July 17 at 4 p.m., with an estimated time of arrival in Eregli set for July 19.
