Rautaruukki Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

On April 29, STX Finland's Lifecycle Services (LCS) division finalized a significant contract with ESL Shipping, a part of the Aspo Group, to update their push barge fleet. The agreement facilitates essential modernization tasks on two push barges along with four additional barges, as reported by MarineLink. This initiative follows ESL Shipping's long-term contract initiated in February 2011 with Rautaruukki for the maritime transportation of raw materials across the Baltic Sea, prompting a commitment to upgrade their push barge fleet over the summer of 2011. The Arctech Helsinki Shipyard will be the site of these renovations. Notably, the push barge MS Rautaruukki and the barge Tasku have already arrived at the Helsinki facility, with another barge expected to join them within a week. Immediate work has commenced and is set to continue through to the end of August. Key areas of modernization include upgrading the automation systems for all six barges and refreshing their decks. Additionally, a variety of repairs and maintenance tasks will take place, encompassing painting, welding, piping, and electrical system updates.
