On the morning of August 12, 2018, a maritime mishap transpired on the Elbe River as the cargo vessel "Saxum," which was traveling from Stokmarknes to Hamburg, collided with the 12-meter sailing yacht "Sailia" north of Neuwerk Island. The unfortunate incident left a 64-year-old female sailor with severe facial injuries, necessitating immediate hospitalization. Meanwhile, the sailing yacht sustained considerable damage, while the "Saxum" experienced only minor scratches on its bow.
