The vessel was previously owned by the Greek company Seajets, which acquired it during the pandemic in the summer of 2020 and subsequently renamed it 'Aegean Myth'. Having been laid up in Aigio for an extended period, the ship has now been officially renamed 'Renaissance'. Clément Mousset, the driving force behind CFC and its parent company, CFC Holdco, brings a wealth of experience to this venture, having previously worked with Celestyal Cruises and Cruise & Maritime Voyages (CMV) among others. This acquisition marks a notable step forward for CFC as it aims to make its mark in the cruise industry.

In a significant move within the cruise industry, Holland America Line has finalized the sale of four of its esteemed vessels: the 'Amsterdam', 'Maasdam', 'Rotterdam', and 'Veendam'. These iconic ships are set to be transferred to undisclosed buyers. The vessels have been sold in strategic pairs: the 'Maasdam' and 'Veendam' were sold to one company back in August 2020, while the 'Amsterdam' and 'Rotterdam' are expected to transition to another buyer in the fall of 2020.
