Working Conditions Aboard the Rix-Sail

On May 6, 2025, the bulk carrier 'Rix Sail' faced detention in Klaipeda due to serious safety and operational deficiencies. The inspection revealed a total of 11 issues, three of which were categorized as critical enough to warrant immediate action. These included structural cracks in the bulkheads, inadequate knowledge during fire drills, and insufficient oil pollution prevention measures onboard. Following rectifications, the vessel was cleared and departed Klaipeda on May 25. It continued its journey and successfully berthed at Bałtycka Baza Masowa in Gdynia on May 26.

On December 10, 2014, the cargo vessel 'Brigga' arrived at the port of Brake, having traveled from Ijmuiden. Just prior to its scheduled departure to Hartlepool, a routine inspection by local police unveiled a significant issue: the freeboard mark of the ship was submerged, indicating it was overloaded. As a result, authorities took immediate action and temporarily detained the vessel until 47 tons of steel cargo could be offloaded. Following the necessary adjustments, the 'Brigga' was allowed to leave the port on December 12 at noon. The ship successfully completed its journey and reached Hartlepool by 10 a.m. on December 15.
