Working Conditions Aboard the Robusta

On July 30, 2022, the cargo ship 'Robusta' docked at Martas port, having traveled from Santos to Marmara Ereglisi. Authorities, including police and Coast Guard teams specializing in narcotics, swiftly responded to allegations of cocaine smuggling associated with the vessel. Underwater inspections led by diver teams uncovered a staggering 242 kilograms of cocaine concealed at the bottom of the ship. In light of these findings, the public prosecutor and police launched a legal investigation, resulting in the cancellation of the vessel’s departure permission until further inquiries could be completed. As of August 2, 2022, the 'Robusta' remained moored at the port while authorities collected statements from the crew.
