Celebration of the Ronja Polaris: A New Era for Sølvtrans
On October 10th, 2023, a momentous baptism ceremony took place for the Ronja Polaris in Ålesund, Norway. This remarkable vessel, owned by Sølvtrans and constructed by the esteemed Astilleros Zamakona S.A., is a proud addition to the Zamakona Yards fleet. Although the Ronja Polaris was officially delivered last October, the baptism coincided with its success in the field, as it was immediately deployed to serve Marine Harvest after delivery. To date, the vessel has impressively transported over 70,000 tons of live fish. Mrs. Anja Halsebakk, daughter of Sølvtrans CEO Roger Halsebakk, had the honor of being the Godmother of the vessel. The ceremony was graced by notable attendees including Mr. Roger Halsebakk, the ship’s captain Mr. Anders Solheim, and Zamakona Shipyards executives Mr. Luis Magro and Mr. Ángel Sanchez. During the event, Roger Halsebakk emphasized the exceptional performance of the Ronja Polaris, which has surpassed the company’s expectations by efficiently and sustainably managing large volumes of fish.

Mr. Roger, CEO of Sølvtrans AS, expressed his satisfaction with the ship following its delivery, stating, 'The ship's construction quality is high, and I am very pleased with the shipyard.'
