In a somber incident on September 17, 2020, a 45-year-old Russian crew member aboard the vessel 'Ronja' suffered a fatal heart attack while navigating through the Bay of Biscay, approximately 48 miles northwest of Ortegal. The ship, which was on a route from Aveiro to Brake, urgently requested medical assistance due to the crew member's deteriorating condition. In response, the vessel altered its course towards A Coruña. Initial efforts by Salvamento Marítimo to deploy the Pesca II helicopter were thwarted by adverse weather conditions in the vicinity. Ultimately, the Helimer 402 helicopter was able to perform a successful hoist operation and transported the afflicted crew member to A Coruña, where he was sadly pronounced dead. Following the medical evacuation, the 'Ronja' continued on its journey.

On April 2, 2020, a maritime incident occurred involving the 'Ronja', which was traveling from Figueira da Foz to Szczecin. At approximately 4:35 p.m., the vessel collided with the gate of the old northern lock of the Kiel Canal as it entered the basin for its eastbound journey. The incident prompted an investigation by the Brunsbüttel water police conducted within the lock area. Fortunately, the 'Ronja' was cleared for departure at 5:30 p.m. and continued its voyage, with an estimated time of arrival (ETA) set for April 3 at 4 p.m.
