On December 12, 2018, the bulk carrier 'Rossana' set sail from Vagberg, Sweden, destined for the United States with a substantial load of 22,000 tonnes of sawn timber. However, during its passage through the rough waters of the English Channel, the vessel encountered severe storm conditions, resulting in damage to some of its deck cargo. A total of 5,000 tons of timber was positioned on the deck, necessitating a careful assessment and rectification of stowage. On the night of December 16, 'Rossana' diverted to Brest, France, where it docked at repair dock number 3 of the CIB Brest Shipyard at 2:30 a.m. on December 17. Maritime experts boarded the vessel that same day to evaluate the situation and determine the necessary actions for resuming its journey.
