Refloating Success: 'Crystal Sea' Freed from Grounding Incident
On October 19, 2019, the cargo vessel 'Crystal Sea' encountered a grounding incident in the Solomon Sea, near Papua New Guinea, at the coordinates 009 10 52 S, 149 27 08 E. The vessel was on her way from Alotau to Zhangjiagang while fully loaded when the mishap occurred at 3:10 p.m. After an extensive operation, the 'Crystal Sea' was successfully refloated and relocated to anchor off Oro Bay Port, where she dropped anchor on November 3 at 2:00 p.m. at the coordinates 08° 53.21' S, 148° 30.21' E.
