On December 27, 2020, a serious accident occurred at the Port of Santos when a loading facility collapsed while sodium sulfate was being offloaded from the cargo vessel 'Saga Journey'. The structure fell onto a truck parked below, resulting in injuries to two workers from Conport. Emergency response teams, including the fire brigade, were quick to act, successfully rescuing the injured individuals. Both workers were subsequently hospitalized for further observation, with one of them reported to have sustained a concussion. The second worker was treated at Ana Costa Hospital.
