Urgent Medivac Operation Near Manasquan Inlet
On June 24, 2021, a critical medical evacuation was conducted by the U.S. Coast Guard approximately 10 miles north of Manasquan Inlet. The situation arose aboard the tug 'Stain Emilion' when a crew member reported severe abdominal pain. Alerted by watchstanders at the Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay Command Center in Philadelphia, the team swiftly coordinated with a Coast Guard flight surgeon who deemed a medevac necessary. Responding promptly, a 47-foot Motor Lifeboat crew from Coast Guard Station Manasquan Inlet was deployed to rendezvous with the tug. Upon arrival, the dedicated boat crew successfully extracted the ailing crewman and facilitated a seamless transfer to awaiting emergency medical services at the station, ensuring swift medical assistance.
