On October 7, 2018, the cargo vessel 'Salsk' encountered trouble on the Don River, grounding at the 3133.5 kilometer mark between buoys 187 and 189 at 10:10 AM. The ship, located at coordinates 47°12'58" N, 039°44'41" E, was carrying a substantial load of 3,959 tonnes of wheat when it experienced a draught loss of 15 centimeters. In response to the situation, the Rostov-based tug 'Dobrynya' was dispatched to conduct refloating operations. However, efforts to free the 'Salsk' proved ineffective, prompting the involvement of a second tug. The tug 'Rogda' was called in to assist with the rescue. Ultimately, the shipowner opted to halt refloating attempts until October 9. Fortunately, at 11 AM on that day, the vessel was successfully refloated through the assistance of the tug 'OT-15042' and was subsequently anchored in deep water for thorough inspections.
