On March 27, 2019, at approximately 4:45 PM, the cargo ship 'Wilson Malm' encountered difficulties and ran aground in close proximity to Vordingborg. The vessel, which was unloaded at the time, was overcome by fierce winds shortly after departing from Masnedo, en route to Stralsund. To assist in re-floating the ship, a tug was dispatched, successfully towing it back to the Vordingborg port for necessary evaluations and inspections. Fortunately, there were no indications of any oil spills or environmental hazards during this incident. In the aftermath, the Danish Maritime Authority conducted an interview with the captain to gather further insights regarding the grounding. Following the completion of the investigations, the ship was cleared and resumed its journey, departing from Masnedo again at 10:50 PM on March 28, with an estimated time of arrival in Stralsund on March 30.
