On January 28, 2022, the United States Coast Guard successfully conducted a medevac operation for a male crew member aboard the 'Sanco Spirit', approximately 100 miles from Port Fourchon, Louisiana. The distress call was received by the Sector New Orleans watchstanders around 7:19 p.m. reporting that an individual was experiencing seizure-like symptoms. Promptly, they coordinated the deployment of resources, including the MH-65 Dolphin helicopter from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans and the HC-144 Ocean Sentry aircraft from the Aviation Training Center Mobile. The helicopter arrived swiftly, hoisted the patient and transported him to West Jefferson Medical Center in Marrero, Louisiana, where he was stabilized and treated.
