On August 30, 2012, the tanker "Clipper Harald," while traveling from Rafnes to Karsto, came to the aid of a 41-foot yacht that was left adrift due to a broken mast. The incident unfolded in the afternoon when Tjøme Radio was alerted at 1:41 PM about the stricken vessel, which was approximately 5 nautical miles off the coast of Risør and Lyngør, battling rough sea conditions. The yacht's skipper, along with his two young sons, aged 8 and 9, was understandably anxious, fearing that the damaged mast could potentially breach the hull. In response to the emergency, the lifeboat "Inge Steensland" promptly set out at full speed, reaching the yacht within about 40 minutes. By that time, the "Clipper Harald" had already reached the scene and was providing shelter to the distressed yacht. The lifeboat successfully took the yacht in tow and transported the crew safely back to Risør.
