This incident unfolded amid challenging weather conditions, characterized by wave heights reaching three meters and wind gusts peaking at 35 mph. The Russian icebreaker tug, Tayfun, responded quickly, managing to establish a towing connection with the disabled vessel. Demonstrating exceptional skill, the Tayfun safely towed the Sasco Angara to the port of Nakhodka, arriving at 1 p.m. Following repairs and preparations, the Sasco Angara departed Nakhodka at 1:35 a.m. on January 6, 2021, and successfully reached Vladivostok by 1 p.m. that same day.
