On September 23, 2019, at 12:05 p.m., a maritime incident occurred at Chittagong Outer Anchorage involving the product tanker 'Ocean Pluto' and the bulk carrier 'Fushun'. As 'Ocean Pluto' maneuvered to pass near the bow of the moored 'Fushun', it struck the vessel’s port side, making contact with the propeller and anchor chain, resulting in significant damage to both ships. Following the allision, damage assessments commenced on September 26 by surveyors representing all pertinent parties. Despite the incident, cargo operations continued on both vessels. 'Ocean Pluto', laden with 32,362 tonnes of gas oil, had docked at Chittagong early on the same day at 06:40 a.m. Meanwhile, 'Fushun', carrying 44,030 tonnes of cement clinker in bulk, had arrived at the port on September 20 at 4:50 p.m. and was engaged in discharging its cargo into lighter vessels positioned alongside.
