Subsea 7 Secures Major EPCI Contract in the Atoll Field, Egypt
Subsea 7, the prominent UK-based subsea services provider, has announced its latest achievement of securing a significant contract from Pharaonic Petroleum Company for operations in the Atoll field, located offshore Egypt. This contract, valued between $150 million and $300 million, encompasses a comprehensive scope of work including engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of over 40 kilometers of rigid pipelines along with related infrastructure. This strategic project aims to integrate the new Atoll field with the existing Taurt field. Additionally, a 105-kilometer umbilical will be installed to create a vital link between the Atoll field and the mainland. Preliminary work for the project has commenced, with offshore operations expected to kick off in the latter half of 2017, utilizing the specialized vessels Seven Borealis, Seven Eagle, and Seven Arctic. Gilles Lafaye, the regional Vice President for Africa at Subsea 7, expressed enthusiasm about expanding their operations in Egypt, stating, 'This substantial contract award acknowledges our technical capabilities and proven execution track record with Pharaonic Petroleum Company.'
Subsea 7 Secures $150 Million Contract for Culzean Field Development with Maersk Oil
In a significant move for offshore operations, Subsea 7 has successfully secured a substantial contract valued at $150 million from Maersk Oil for the Culzean gas field development located in the UK North Sea. This award follows just a day after Maersk Oil received the green light from the UK’s Oil & Gas Authority, permitting the development of Culzean, heralded as the largest gas discovery in the region over the past decade. Situated in Block 22/25 of the Central North Sea at a depth of approximately 90 meters, the ultra-high pressure and high temperature gas field presents a promising opportunity. The scope of the contract encompasses comprehensive project management, engineering, procurement, and construction services. It includes the installation of a 22-inch diameter, 52-kilometer gas export pipeline linking to the Central Area Transmission System (CATS), alongside a sophisticated 3.6-kilometer pipe-in-pipe structure—comprised of a 10-inch outer pipe and a 6-inch inner pipe—that provides essential insulation for condensate transport to the in-field Floating, Storage, and Offloading facility (FSO). To further enhance operations, a 4-inch piggy-back line will be incorporated to transport the necessary fuel gas to the FSO. Additionally, Subsea 7 will deliver various subsea structures, conduct tie-ins to the Culzean platform facilities, and lend its pre-commissioning expertise throughout the project. Work on project management and engineering is expected to initiate immediately from Subsea 7’s Aberdeen headquarters. Several dedicated vessels, including the adaptable pipelay and heavy-lift vessel, Seven Borealis, will be deployed for offshore activities, which are set to commence in 2017.
Subsea 7 Secures Major Contract for BP's Taurus and Libra Fields in Egypt
Subsea 7 S.A. (Oslo Børs: SUBC, ADR: SUBCY) has announced a significant contract win valued at approximately USD 500 million, awarded by BP and partner DEA. This contract focuses on the development of the Taurus and Libra subsea fields, situated offshore Alexandria, Egypt. This project marks the inaugural phase of Egypt’s West Nile Delta initiative, with operations set to occur at depths nearing 800 meters. The scope of the contract encompasses comprehensive engineering, procurement, installation, and pre-commissioning of the essential subsea infrastructure needed to harness the hydrocarbon potential of nine wells. This includes the installation of 75 kilometers of umbilicals and 100 kilometers of pipeline. Project management and engineering efforts will begin immediately at Subsea 7’s Global Projects Centre located in London, while the fabrication of subsea structures and spools will take place at the Petrojet Maadia yard close to Alexandria. Planned to kick off in the latter half of 2016, offshore installation will utilize Subsea 7's pipelay vessel, the Seven Borealis, along with the heavy construction vessel Seven Arctic. Renowned as an industry leader in seabed-to-surface engineering and construction services, Subsea 7 specializes in delivering technical solutions for complex offshore projects across diverse water depths and environmentally challenging conditions.
