Seven-Star Ship Details and Seafarer Feedback

On October 9, 2017, the cargo ship 'Seven Stars' was detained at Salerno's port after arriving with a load of scrap metal. The ship, carrying hazardous ferrous waste intended for offloading at the Salerno Container Terminal, has raised concerns among Italian authorities. Originally, the cargo was scheduled to be sent to Oristano, Sardinia; however, the island lacks the necessary waste processing and recycling facilities. This has led to suspicions of potential illegal dumping in Sardinia or the surrounding waters, as well as the possibility of further transshipment of the waste to other countries.

On March 16, 2023, the maritime scene in Augusta revealed a striking sight as the vessel 'Seven Star' sank partially beneath the waves, leaving only its wheelhouse and masts visible above the water's surface. This ship has been dormant in Augusta's port since September 19, 2019. Notably, on July 8, 2001, while operating under the name 'Laura', the ship encountered a significant incident in Marseille, suffering collision damage to the starboard side foreship and midship areas above the waterline.
