Shaman Detained in Aliaga Due to Serious Safety Deficiencies
On April 16, 2026, the vessel 'Shaman' faced detention in Aliaga after being found with 11 deficiencies, four of which were categorized as serious enough to warrant the vessel's detention. The major issues flagged included critical fire safety concerns: the jacketed high-pressure lines and oil leakage alarm were inoperative, fire doors and openings in fire-resisting divisions did not meet required standards, ventilators, air pipes, and casings fell short of water and weathertight regulations, and there was insufficient cleanliness in the engine room. The ship is managed by Marlin Denizcilik Teknik Danismanlik Hizmetleri Ltd. Sti., the ISM company responsible for the vessel's operations. After addressing the deficiencies, the 'Shaman' was released on April 17, subsequently setting sail from the port towards Azov, with an estimated time of arrival on April 23.
