On May 21, the cargo vessel 'Sinar Solo' successfully docked at Keppel Terminal in Tanjong Pagar, enabling it to commence the offloading of containers damaged during its recent incident with the bulk carrier 'Taho Australia'. This operation takes place at a designated lay berth, with the vessel sustaining notable damage to its starboard side during the collision.
Sinar Solo and Taho Australia Collide in Singapore Strait
A maritime incident occurred on May 6, 2021, when the container ship 'Sinar Solo' collided with the bulk carrier 'Taho Australia' in the busy Singapore Strait, near Lagoi on Northern Bintan Island. The 'Sinar Solo' sustained damage on its starboard side in the main deck area, while several of its containers were affected as a result of the collision. Both vessels anchored close to the site of the accident. Fortunately, the 'Taho Australia' experienced only minor surface damage and was able to resume its journey at 9:20 p.m. that evening. Meanwhile, the 'Sinar Solo' made its way to Singapore Anchorage on May 7, where it docked at coordinates 01° 11.23' N 103° 45.67' E. As of May 14, the vessel remained stationary at the anchorage.
