On March 25, 2014, the cargo ship 'Diamonde' encountered a grounding incident on the Ems River near Weener while navigating from Gothenburg to Papenburg, carrying a load of steel coils. Notably, the vessel was operating without a pilot at the time of the incident. Fortunately, after approximately one hour stranded, the 'Diamonde' managed to free itself and continued its journey to port. The ship successfully docked at the Schulte & Bruns quay within the Dever port for inspection by a classification society. Following the unloading of its cargo, the 'Diamonde' departed from the port on March 26, setting sail towards Antwerp with an estimated time of arrival on March 27.
